Mental Purgatory

I’m Eve, who eats the forbidden fruit. I’m Pandora, who opens the box. I’m an idealistic female who desires a society absent of gender and racial inequalities. I’m also a realist and I acknowledge that there’s a very slim chance this will happen anytime soon. But if no one strives for the change, then there’s no chance at all.

I very much love Jimi Hendrix, Stevie Nicks, the beautiful artwork of Gustav Klimt, Led Zeppelin, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1&2, books, KNOWLEDGE (intelligence and wisdom are sexy), and non sense.

Next time someone calls Ron Paul a racist, ask them who’s responsible for the deaths of more brown people: Ron Paul or Barack Obama?

Austin Petersen (via evilteabagger)

How does this make sense again?

Ron Paul and Barack Obama are in two very different positions. Ron Paul doesn’t have half the power or responsibility as Barack Obama. Ron Paul is also white and therefore benefits from white privilege. Obama does not.

There is no way of telling whether or not Ron Paul would have made the same decision or a different decision as Barack Obama when it comes to using drones in Libya (which is what I assume this quotation at least partially alludes to). It’s very very easy to talk a big “No military evar (but wire hangers for the wimminz)” game when you’re not actually in a position in which public opinion has heavy sway and there are multiple interests and possible shitty outcomes at play.

While I don’t support some of Obama’s foreign policy decisions, they certainly don’t make him more racist than Ron Paul. That’s ri-fucking-diculous, and it just goes to show the immense depths to which libertarians do not understand how racism works

I mean, if we’re going on the sheer number of dead brown people a person is responsible for as a marker of whose the most racist, I guess Obama and any president who has made military decisions takes the cake over even the most bigoted assholes. You know, including the ones who think brown people who are born here shouldn’t be granted citizenship if their parents aren’t documented - despite what the Consitution he claims to love so much says.

But you know, Obama has made some hard military decisions (which granted, were probably wrong and did kill a lot of innocent people), so that makes him totally more racist than a man who benefits from white privilege hypocritically picking and choosing the parts of the Constitution he likes and forgetting the ones he doesn’t in order to stick it to brown people he doesn’t give a shit about.

Right. That makes total sense.

Oh, and that doesn’t even take into account that members of the party he’s in have also killed lots of brown people. So I guess he just happens to be the only non-racist at a really really racist club? Golly, what a champion.
